In celebration of the 30th year of the 1986 movie “Aliens”, 20 Century Fox has declared April 26th as Alien Day.
April 26th is a direct reference to the planet LV-426, where the xenomorphs were first discovered.
公開 30周年を迎えた映画『エイリアン２』を記念して、今年より4月26日がエイリアン・デーとして、世界で制定されました。
4月26日はエイリアンエッグが発見された惑星LV-426から由来しています。
To celebrate the very first Alien Day, the 20 Century Fox official event “ALIEN SAPIENS” was held from April 26th to May 8th at Hot Toys Tokyo Flagship Store “TOY SAPIENS”.
記念すべき第一回目のエイリアン・デーを祝し、20世紀ＦＯＸオフィシャルイベント『エイリアン・サピエンス』が
4月26日から5月8日までの12日間にわたって、ホットトイズ東京フラッグシップ・ストア「トイサピエンス」で、開催されました。

エイリアンサピエンスイベント初日の様子をレポート！
Even though the April 26th was a Tuesday, there were lines of people waiting for the event to be open!
平日だったにも関わらず、イベント開始30分前から、会場前にはすでに行列が！
Many limited items were sold at this event from many companies.
CoolProps also started pre-orders of “Alien 3 – Statue: Cool Props / 1/1 Scale Prop Replica Life Size Head – Dog Alien” and “Alien 2 – Statue: Cool Props / 1/1 Scale Prop Replica Life Size Head – Alien Warrior (Blue Version)” both limited to 75 pieces and exclusively sold on TOY SAPIENS Online Shop to celebrate the declaration of Alien Day.

The biggest highlight of this event was the display of screen-used original props!CoolProps displayed total of 5 screen-used original props!
さて、今回のイベントの一番の目玉と言えば、実際に撮影で使用された数々のプロップ！ CoolPropsからは今回、初お披露目するプロップを含め、５つのオリジナルプロップの展示を行いました。
ALIEN:RESURRECTION [1997] New Warrior Alien Head
●『エイリアン４』ニューウォーリアー エイリアン ヘッド
If you look at this closer, you can actually see the 2 holes around the neck. These holes were made for the suit actor to see around during the shooting.
This head style became the basic model of the Aliens which appeared in AVP.
よく見ると、首元にはスーツアクターが周囲を見ることができる様に、２眼の穴が確認できます。
このヘッドは、その後AVPに登場するエイリアンの基本形となりました。
From the movie “ALIEN VS. PREDATOR”, we displayed 3 original props.
また映画『エイリアンvsプレデター』からは３つ、オリジナルプロップを展示。
ALIEN VS. PREDATOR [2004] Battle Alien Head
●『エイリアンvsプレデター』 バトル エイリアン ヘッド
The shape of this head follows the New Warrior from “ALIEN RESURRECTION”.
However, this head was painted with black as the base color, silver to highlight, and also with a small amount of gold and blue to match with the ruins.
You can see the zipper around the neck. Battle Alien was the first Alien suit ever that adopted zipper.
基本的にはエイリアン４のニューウォーリアーの形状を踏襲しています。
塗装はAVPの舞台となった遺跡になじむように、黒をベース、銀をハイライトとしてゴールドとブルーが少量加えられています。
首元にはジッパーも確認でき、AVPの撮影で初めてエイリアンのスーツにジッパーを採用したのが、このバトルエイリアンになります。
ALIEN VS. PREDATOR [2004] Celtic Predator Suit
●『エイリアンvsプレデター』ケルティック プレデター スーツ
This suit and armors can be put on and taken off depending on the scenes.
This damaged mask is now accepting pre-order on our website.
The suit actor, Ian Whyte’s height is about 216 cm, but this predator suit is about 230 cm tall when it stands.
スーツとアーマーはシーンによって前身の装備の着脱が可能となっており、このケルティックのダメージマスクは現在予約販売中。
プレデター役を演じたイアン・ホワイト氏は216㎝の長身ですが、このプレデタースーツは直立時には230ｃｍほどの大きさになります。
ALIEN VS. PREDATOR [2004] Alien Queen Puppet Original Prop
『エイリアンvsプレデター』エイリアン クイーン パペット オリジナル プロップ
The surface is covered with latex, but aluminum framework and the cables and servos which controls the movement of Alien Queen, was built-in.
表面はラテックスで覆われていますが、内部にはアルミの骨格と、影時に操作する為に使われたケーブルやサーボ類が内蔵しています。
The characteristic Alien’s viscous liquid was pasted all over her body, but it is all dried. Also, the fingers have deteriorated over time and you can actually see the framework from the outside. But that shows that this was a highly wrought prop that controlled even her finger tips.
撮影時に塗られたエイリアン特有の粘液は、今では白く乾燥しており、ラテックス製の指先も劣化し、内部の骨格が露わになっていますが、その骨格こそが、まさにこのプロップが指先まで制御されていた精巧な物であった事を物語っているのです。
ALIEN VS. PREDATOR REQUIEM [2007], Nouvel Warrior Alien Head
●『エイリアンｖｓプレデター２』ヌーベル ウォーリアー エイリアン ヘッド
Basing on the head from “ALIEN RESURRECTION”, but as a new change, the head has no transparent dome, but was designed curvy head like Alien Warrior.
エイリアン４のヘッドを基にしながらも、新しい変化として透明なドームではなく、モールドが反復したエイリアンウォーリアーの様なうねりのある頭部にデザインされました。
There were more screen-used props that directly came from the Hollywood, only for this event.
他にも、ハリウッドから本イベントの為だけにやってきたプロップも沢山ありました。
Many people were amazed by the attractions which only the screen-used original props has.

Even after about 40 years have passed since the movie “ALIEN”, Alien franchises are still enthralling lots of fans. In 2017, there will be new movie from Prometheus series, “Alien Covenant”!
2017年には映画『エイリアン コブナント』の公開も決まり、シリーズ発足から約４0年以上経った今でも盛り上がりを魅せる『エイリアン』シリーズ。
